Watercolor Workshop October 20, 2011 with Jane Brennan Koeck

We will be working on a fall landscape using complimentary colors as our springboard for: Color choices, Mixing chromatic grays, Playing light against dark, Cool adjacent to warm, Pure hues juxtaposed to chromatic grays, Discussing why we typically don’t use achromatic colors, Color interaction. Feel free to bring a picture you would like to use as a reference.  We all do our best paintings when the subject matter has a personal significance to us rather than being someone else’s composition. I’ll be using Arches 140 lb watercolor paper; I suggest either cold press or rough. Bring your watercolor supplies, lunch, and come ready to have an enjoyable day. To register contact Lois Lester at 973-362-4547.

This Sussex County Art Society workshop is $25.00 and will be from 10-2 at the Hampton Community Center: 89 Halsey Rd.  Newton, NJ 07860. (The Municipal Building next to it is at 1 Municipal Complex Rd, Newton NJ. Both addresses apply.)  Be aware both Google and GPS try to send you to the town of Newton instead of here.  It is a Newton mailing address but is in the Township of Hampton.
