photographic-type painting. She paints a much freer, looser version with her own

Description: Creative tearing and paint splashing starts off this "Loosen Up Abstract and Collage Workshop". You will learn how to begin a new fresh body of work with your own artistic voice and point of view. Think " artist retreat", producing a body of work, a series of paintings or your conceptual solo show. Emphasis is on originality, personal vision, intentions and goals. Robert, along with his famous daily handouts, demos and lectures, helps and guides you to paint the way you have always wanted to paint. Daily, you can expect warmup paint sketching, brief painting and lecture demos, constructive critiques and time to work on personal projects.

Water is the medium for mesmerizing water colors and vibrant acrylics. Each student will expand their knowledge of these two very different media. Students will learn glazing, layering and scumbeling techniques as they approach water color and acrylic in a totally different way. Weekly exercises will include composition, color theory and much more. Work from reference materials, still life or your imagination. Do you enjoy sharing your talents with youngsters and the young at heart? The Myhelan Cultural Arts Center is looking for some enthusiastic people to conduct a class or series of classes at its facility, located at 18 Schooley's Mountain Road in the Long Valley section of Washington Township. Myhelan is particularly interested in working with art therapists, water colorists and potters who have access to a kiln, but any teaching artist or lecturer who appreciates Myhelan's mission is welcome to contact the organization. Pastel Society of New Jersey (PSNJ) is an exciting art group for artists who paint with pastels. They are recruiting members who are dedicated pastel painters. NJ Society of En Plein Air Artists
The NJ Society of En Plein Air Painters meets every Wednesday from April through October for the enjoyment of painting outdoors at various scenic locations. There is no instruction or fee, and beginners and advanced artists are welcome. Bring painting supplies, lunch and water supply. We arrive around 9:30-9:45 am (except where noted) and paint until 2:00-2:30 pm. Here is a list of the painting locations and dates.
