Saturday WorkshopsGenerally the AAR workshops are held on Saturdays from 9:30 am until about 3 or 4 pm at the Roxbury Public Library, 103 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 07876. Click for directions to the Roxbury Public Library. All workshops are prepaid. Checks should be made out to the instructor and are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the instructor. Advance reservation required. Sign up sheets are available at our meetings. Do you enjoy sharing your talents with youngsters and the young at heart? The Myhelan Cultural Arts Center is looking for some enthusiastic people to conduct a class or series of classes at its facility, located at 18 Schooley's Mountain Road in the Long Valley section of Washington Township. Myhelan is particularly interested in working with art therapists, water colorists and potters who have access to a kiln, but any teaching artist or lecturer who appreciates Myhelan's mission is welcome to contact the organization. Myhelan Artist's Nework: Come enjoy some artistic camaraderie! The Myhelan Artists' Network (MAN) meets monthly at Myhelan Cultural Arts Center, 18 Schooley's Mountain Road, Long Valley. Pastel Society of New Jersey (PSNJ) is an exciting new art group forming for artists who paint with pastels. They are recruiting members who are dedicated pastel painters. The purpose is to increase and expand opportunities for pastel artists, to exhibit, and to promote public interest in pastel painting. Annual membership $25. The NJ Society of En Plein Air Artists meets every Wednesday from May 2 through October 24 (except July 4) for the enjoyment of painting outdoors at various scenic locations in the area. There is no instruction or fee, and beginners and advanced artists are welcome. Bring painting supplies, lunch and water supply. We arrive around 9:30 - 9:45 am (except where noted) and paint until 2:00 - 2:30 pm. If you have an email address and you haven’t given it to us, please send it to Susan Sumner at susanksumner@aol.com so she can add yours to her list. She will then send you a weekly update and let you know of any changes or cancellations by email. A list of the year's painting locations, dates, and directions is sent by email in early spring as well as weekly reminders and updates.
