Congratulations to AAR Members

Jeanette Newcomb received a first place ribbon in the Warren County Senior Art Show for her acrylic painting 'Indulgence.' (4/11)

Nina Harlan spent a month in Palm Springs, where she attended a weeklong Plein Air workshop with the Cochella Valley Water Color society out of Palm Desert, CA. She painted with a plein air group known as The Field Mice. Nina painted with the group at Thousand Palms (an oasis), Palm Groves in the desert, and the town of Palm Springs. On a regular basis, each member puts up a painting before the group, who then votes to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd place paintings. The 1st place painting is then entered into a show at the end of the year.  (4/11)

Dee DeJulio will have a colored pencil exhibit on the second floor of the Morris County Library (30 East Hanover Ave., Whippany, NJ) from Apr 4, 2011 through the end of the month. The show is entitled “Teddies. 

Jean Davidson won an award of Merit for her collage, ‘Chaos’, from the MSHAC exhibit currently at Overlook Hospital in Summit. 1/11

Anita Adelman was in a show called ‘What's New at the Broome Street Gallery’ in NYC in November 2010. She will also be in a show at the Meadowlands Nature Center with Marc de Mos and friends from December 7 to January 31, 2011. The Reception will be December 12 from 12-2pm.

Karen Tighe won Best in Show at the 5th Annual Juried Pastel Society of NJ Show at The Crane’s Mill Gallery in November.

Elmer Dey is currently participating in the Myhelan Artists' Network Exhibit at the Atrium Gallery in Morristown. The exhibit runs from Sept. 17, 2010 to January 11, 2011, and is open 9-5 weekdays as well as during the Morristown New Years Eve First Night Celebration.

Roberta Millman-Ide is being inducted into N.A.W.A. (The National Association of Women Artists) Nov. 16, 2010. The induction ceremony will take place at the Interfaith Center of New York (475 Riverside Drive; New York, NY 10115). This is a great privilege and honor for Roberta to have been selected into this organization and we all offer her our congratulations! Later that evening (from 5-7 pm) there will be a "New Member's Exhibition" Opening Art Reception at the N.A.W.A. Gallery located at 80 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1405 in Manhattan. The following AAR members won awards at the 2010 Tewksbury show: Judy Balance, Theresa Kubert, Jack Quinn, Jinnie May, and Karen Tighe.

In September 2010 Carol Manochio, Judy Ballance, Jinnie May and Ginny Puskar spent six warm and sunny days in Cape May at a watercolor workshop with Charles Reid. All had a wonderful time, with lots of painting and critiques, great food and conversation.

Toni Chaplin had a painting of "Waterfall at Child's Park. Pa." accepted into the New Jersey Water Color Society's 68th Annual Open Juried Exhibit at the Ridgewood Art Institute in Ridgewood, N.J.

Elmer Dey is participating in the Myhelan Artists' Network Exhibit at the Atrium Gallery in Morristown. The exhibit of nineteen Myhelan artists working in a variety of media runs from Sept. 17, 2010 to January 11, 2011. The exhibit is open 9-5 weekdays, and will be open during the Morristown New Years Eve First Night Celebration.
